Celebrate Thanksgiving with Farm Fresh Food From the Capital Region

Celebrate Thanksgiving with Farm Fresh Food From the Capital Region

Celebrate your Thanksgiving dinner with a menu created from locally grown products.  Starting with a fresh locally raised turkey, other items to include on your menu are winter squash, turnips, carrots, Brussel sprouts, potatoes, sweet potatoes, cabbage, onions, garlic, apples and pears.  All of these items are available at your local farmers’ market or farm store.  In addition, there is a great selection of craft beer, wine, hard cider, vodka, gin, whiskey and brandy from many farms that have opened breweries, wineries, cideries and distilleries on their farms.

If you’re looking for several items for your Thanksgiving menu, visit your local farmers’ market for a wide selection of fruits, vegetables, meats, dairy products, baked items, beer, wine, ciders and spirits.  To top off your dinner, several farm stores bake pies to order.  They are taking orders now, so don’t hesitate and give them a call.

Regardless of the farm or farmers’ market you end up visiting, locally grown products are a great way to celebrate and also support your local communities.  Enjoy the great taste of farm fresh from the Capital Region farms and farmers’ markets this Thanksgiving!
