Find Farm Fresh in the Capital Region

Farmers’ Markets around the Capital Region are opening for the season with a bounty of locally grown products.  If you’re looking for products grown on farms in your backyard, visit your local farmers’ markets for a great variety including fruits, vegetables, herbs, milk, eggs, cheese, yogurt, honey, maple syrup, meat, flowers, bedding plants, potted plants, cider, hard cider, craft beer, wine and more.  While shopping at the farmers’ market, you’ll have the opportunity to talk to the farmers that grow and raise the products for sale to find out how and where it’s grown.

A great benefit of farmers’ markets is that they support the local community by keeping local farms in business and providing jobs.  The money you spend on high quality farm fresh products will keep farmers on the land and rural economies viable.  Shopping at grocery chains and big box stores does not offer you the opportunity to buy direct from the farmer.  Keep farmers farming by supporting farmers’ markets, farm stands, greenhouses, nurseries and honey and maple syrup producers in the Capital Region.

If you’re looking for farms and farmers’ markets in your community, visit www.harvestconnection-ny.com.  The website allows you to search by product and/or location and provides resources for more information about locally grown products.  It’s a one stop shop for your connection to locally grown and you can to use it for up-to-date information and connections to your favorite farms and products.  Follow and share Harvest Connection – your source for locally grown in the Capital Region.
