Copake Hillsdale Farmers Market Opens for 10th Season

Copake Hillsdale Farmers Market, located in Roe Jan Park in Hillsdale, NY, offers a welcoming marketplace with an abundance of fresh, nutritious locally grown food.  The market features over 30 of vendors selling a variety of products including fresh fruits and vegetables, pasture-based meat, eggs, honey, maple syrup, mushrooms, venison and other game meat, specialty meats and cheeses, baked goods, gluten-free baked goods, herbal vinegar, honey and teas, craft beer, wine, hard cider, body care products, prepared foods, coffee, cut flowers and floral products and much more.  The unique setting attracts customers from the local area as well as second home owners, tourists, leaf-peepers and visitors from neighboring states.

From May through November, the market features live music, community guests and children’s programs.   Guest educators and guest chefs provide opportunities for customers to learn more about the local community and delicious meals to prepare from local ingredients.  In addition, the market collaborates with the Roe Jan Community Library to offer the “Power of Produce” program, to involve kids in food and farming activities and earn real dollars they can spend at the market.

The market offers a variety of food assistance programs including SNAP, Farmers Market Nutrition Program and a dollar-for-dollar match of SNAP dollars through the NYS Fresh Connect Program.

Customers state that the market offers a good selection of vendors offering a variety of items at a very reasonable price and is genuinely a fine place to go.  It’s worth the trip – enjoy a beautiful drive in the countryside to shop a truly unique farmers market in Columbia County.
