Five Generations of Growing Fruit on Fix Bros. Farm

Five Generations of Growing Fruit on Fix Bros. Farm

In 1899 John Henry Fix started the Fix Farm when he purchased property in the Hudson Valley.   Over the years, John purchased more acreage to expand his farm.  After his death in 1931, his son William Henry continued farming what was known as the Woodchuck Farm.  In 1953 William Henry’s sons Bill and Bob changed the name of the farm to Fix Brothers.   They grew sweet and sour cherries and apples and expanded the orchards to include more varieties of apples, pears and peaches.  When Bill retired, Bob’s sons Bobby, Garry and David partnered with their dad to become the fourth generation to run the farm.  By starting pick-your-own, the Fix brothers invited the public to visit and pick from their cherry, peach and apple orchards.

Now in their fifth generation of farming, Stephen, Bradley, Angela and Brandon run the farm offering customers a wonderful variety of tree-ripened fruit.  Fix Brother is truly a family run farm with Bob and Bradley overseeing the work crew, Linda and Jessica handling the advertising and promotion and David and Brandon keeping the equipment in top-notch condition. They take great pride in providing customers with high quality fruit and a memorable experience on the farm.

With Pick-Your-Own apples available September 18th, the Fix Family is excited to welcome customers to their farm during the fall season.  The farm will be open Wednesday through Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. offering a variety of apples to pick.  The farm is located at 215 White Birch Road in Hudson, NY.
